FAR.Labs aims to run at cost. We host a limited number of short-term visitors for free, but charge long-term members in order to cover our costs. We believe a market for office space both produces healthier incentives and enables us to operate sustainably.

Our pricing model involves two components:

  • Space: We have limited space and need to cover rent. We charge private office space at around $16 psf, a dedicated desk in an open-plan at $600, and a hot desk at $350 per month. Prices for private office space may vary depending on the desirability of the space and current supply and demand.

  • Membership & food costs: This covers costs incurred from a member working from the office that we would not incur if it were empty, such as staff time, utilities, and janitorial. This is $400/month per person, and we also offer an optional twice a day meal plan, as well as snacks, drinks, and cereals for $800.

We do not wish financial constraints to be an impediment for great work, and may be able to provide financial assistance for a limited number of individuals who could not otherwise be part of the space. We are also experimenting with reduced cost, part time memberships. Contact us for more information on both.
